What is the best fish feed for rohu, catla, and mrigal in India?

ZOVENTA's Starter 32/6 and Grower 28/5 floating feeds are specifically formulated for Indian Major Carp (IMC) species like rohu, catla, and mrigal. Our feeds contain 28-32% protein with balanced amino acids, vitamins, and minerals optimised for the growth requirements of freshwater carp. The floating feed design allows better feed observation and reduced wastage.

How do I calculate the right amount of fish feed for my pond?

Feed quantity depends on fish body weight, water temperature, and stocking density. As a general rule: Fingerlings (10-50g) need 5-8% body weight daily; Growers (50-300g) need 3-5% body weight; Finishers (300g+) need 2-3% body weight. Use our free FCR Calculator on the Resources page to get personalised feeding recommendations based on your specific pond conditions, fish species, and water quality parameters.

What makes ZOVENTA BIOTECH products different from other fish feed brands?

Our feeds are formulated for Indian pond conditions: balanced protein and fat for each growth stage, added vitamins and minerals, and water-stable pellets that are easy to digest. We focus on three pillars: (1) Research-backed formulations with balanced amino-acid profiles, (2) High water stability for less feed wastage, and (3) Comprehensive farmer support with 24/7 AI advisory in 13 languages.

How quickly can I expect to see results after using ZOVENTA products?

Results timeline varies by product: Water conditioners (Ventox-PM, KiK NOX-L) show visible improvement in 3-5 days. Feed supplements such as Extra Gain are mixed into feed, so like feed they are judged on growth over weeks. Feed-related growth improvements typically manifest in 2-4 weeks with consistent use. Our technical team provides batch-specific guidance for your farming conditions.

Are ZOVENTA products safe for all aquaculture species?

Our products are made for freshwater fish farming, including rohu, catla, mrigal, tilapia, pangasius and common carp. Each product carries its own dosage and use instructions — follow the label, and ask our advisor or your fisheries officer if your pond has a problem. Our feeds contain no antibiotics or growth hormones.

Do you provide technical support and training for fish farmers?

Absolutely! We offer comprehensive support including: (1) 24/7 AI-powered advisory in Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Telugu and 9 other languages, (2) WhatsApp-based quick consultation, (3) Training workshops on feed management and pond health, and (4) Personalised feeding schedules based on your pond conditions.

What is your product delivery coverage and timeline?

We deliver across Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat. Delivery time and freight depend on your location and order size; we confirm both when you order, and urgent orders can be prioritised.

How should I store ZOVENTA fish feed and pond products?

Fish feeds should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight with humidity below 65%. Keep bags sealed and use within 3 months of opening. Pond conditioners and probiotics can be stored at room temperature but away from heat sources. Live probiotic cultures require refrigeration (2-8°C). Proper storage ensures maximum product efficacy and shelf life.

Can I use multiple ZOVENTA products together for better results?

Yes, our products are designed to work synergistically. A recommended combination includes: Starter/Grower feeds + Venta Mix minerals for nutrition, Ventox-PM + Fresh Flow for water quality, Micro Pond PSB for natural food development, and Eco Defence-DS + Extra Gain for health and growth. Our technical team can create a customised product plan based on your farming goals.

What is FCR and why is it important for fish farming profitability?

FCR (Feed Conversion Ratio) measures how efficiently fish convert feed into body weight. A lower FCR means less feed needed per kg of fish produced. For example, FCR of 1.5 means 1.5 kg feed produces 1 kg fish. Feed is the biggest running cost on most fish farms, so a lower FCR goes straight to profit. Water-stable feed, the right pellet size for the fish, and not overfeeding all help. Work out your own FCR with our free FCR calculator.
